(Wednesday 30 April) Ray Rigby requests members to inform him if they are appointed to matches by other organisations such as National KO, Universities, Junior cricket. Letting him know will prevent needless telephone calls by him when he is trying to make MCUA appointments. (DJ)

(Friday 18 April) Any expenses which are not paid correctly to umpires on the day of a match can be claimed from Peter Freeman who will invoice the club(s) concerned.
Colleagues are advised to look at the regulations for matches being called-off and expenses due.

If there is a problem over payment, umpires should share the money available on the day and contact PF for the balance due. (DJ)
(Sunday 13 April) Disciplinary Guidelines to Clubs & Players

The above have been revised for season 2008 and it is important that you study the handout which has been prepared for you and available at the AGM/Pre-season Meeting on 10th April.

The MANDATORY reporting under No.7(e) has been amended and you should ensure that reference is made to this change when acting under No.9 (e) Umpires & Captains thus ensuring that the Captains are requested to bring the 'MANDATORY' reporting rule to the attention of players before they take the field. If you are in any doubt as to how to deal with this important change, please discuss with the MCUA Discipline Secretary - Malcolm Barber.

(Friday 11 April) The payments for this season are £35 in the LDCC, £33 in the Alliance and Merseyside Competition and £15 for the Lever Cup and Echo Cup.(CB)
(Friday 11 April) At the AGM yesterday evening the committee was expanded. The following appointments were approved;
Kevin Wilson as Secretary
Malcolm Barber as Discipline Secretary
Ian Shepherd as Boundary Assessments Secretary
Les Knowles as Marketing Manager
In addition Steve Ball was elected as a second elected member.
All sitting members of the committee remain in place.
It was agreed that the representatives from the Alliance and the LDCC should have a vote.
The position for the Branch Chairman of the ACU&S was abolished with the demise of the ACU&S
Finally John Steel was elected, to great acclaim, as a vice president of the Association(CB)

(Friday 11 April) The Umpires report cards coloured green and addressed to Eric Hadfield are for the Liverpool Competition and the cards coloured white addressed to John Rotheram are for the Alliance. Care must be taken to ensure that the correct cards are used.(CB)
(Monday 18 February) MCUA sadly announce the death of a former member Nick Glayzer, the groundsman at Ormskirk Cricket Club.

(Saturday 26 January) Colleagues are reminded that they must be insured before being appointed to matches. This is covered by being a member of an association but the ACU&S cover will not exist for the coming season so any ACU&S members should ensure thast they are members of another association before the start of the season. Any person who does not wish to belong to an association must take out a policy to cover them at least against possible claims from another party. (CB)
